When it's time for your child to go home, a social worker can help answer your questions, make follow-up care arrangements and calm any fears or stress related to caring for your child. Social work services include:

The Medical Ethics Committee offers guidance to families, providers and treatment teams who are trying to reach an agreement about the best way to care for a patient, helping to provide clarity in cases where difficult ethical issues arise. To request an ethics consult, email ethicsconsultservice@bmcjax.com or contact the House Supervisor.

Request an ethics consult when:

• The patient's treatment goals are unclear.
• There is uncertainty surrounding the decision-making roles of the patient, family, providers and the treatment team.
• The patient, family, providers or the treatment team needs help resolving a conflict.

The Ronald McDonald Family Room reflects the home-away-from-home environment of the Ronald McDonald House and is open to anyone with a child in the hospital, whether they are staying at the Ronald McDonald House or are a local First Coast family that just needs a break while their child receives care.

Visitors are greeted by RMHC of Jacksonville volunteers who offer snacks, coffee, support and a listening ear. These dedicated volunteers also help answer questions families may have such as local information, hospital contacts or directions.
